March 24, 2014

We embark and take a rickshaw tour of the Vietnamese village of Tan Chau.  The children call out to us as we travel along.  Traffic was light, few cars but many bicycles and motor bikes. After that we pile into a small boat and head to a fish farm under a floating house.  Quite interesting. We head to an "evergreen island" and walk along the fields, eggplant, tiny red peppers (like we put in the soup at your house Donna), green beans, mangoes and melons.  We also toured a house, three generations and at least eight children.  Our guide gave us candy to hand out to the kids and one of our group said that the guide had paid the grandfather to let us tour his house.  It was quite tidy, everything in it's place.  Not a toy in sight.  The children were happy and friendly.
