Photos from the Metropole In Hanoi

We leave this elegant hotel today.  The Viking Tour we are on has 54 people and two tour leaders, Kong and Henry.  Both are good.  We are in Kong's group.  He is very informative but surprisingly unPC.  He is a Viet (by far the largest ethnic group in Viet Nam) and discusses the minority groups as innocent, childlike, happy, etc.  The guests are all English Speakers from the UK, Canada and the US and many have been on several Viking Tours.  They are used to traveling well, having things

(luggage,tour) taken care of.  A new luxury for us, a change from traveling alone or with a sm

all group of friends, making our own arrangements-traveling through the back door, as Rick Steve's called it.  Both ways have advantages and disadvantages.
