Way Pho

Today I set out to see Wat Pho, famous for its huge reclining gold Buddha and many stupas and temples.  Despite all guide book instructions and common sense many tourists arrive in various inappropriate garb and are issued sarongs.

The gold Buddha with mother of pearl inlay feet is indeed impressive.  The monks and devote Buddists add reverence to the sightseers.  Huge carved granite figures guard the entrances of the temple, an array of Chinese characters that arrived in Thiland as ballast in Chinese junks.

  1. I want to know, Bev, were you issued a sarong? :)
