Angkor Thom

A great city of epic scale, thought to be home to a million people it's origins was shrouded in jungle with extensive bas reliefs of very impressive size.  UNESCO is in the process of an extensive restoration of these Cambodian Temples.  Many were extensively damaged during the three year reign of the Khmer Rouge.
